I'm a little on the edge with my LSAT score. I want to apply Early Decision. Is it true, you get no scholarships whatsoever because of this? Im not complaining or anything, I was just wondering if they automatically rule you out for aid besides loans?

You're more or less ruled out for merit aid except in rare cases, so you should plan on not receiving aid from an ED school.

For binding ED you will likely be ruled out, but for non-binding ED you might still get scholarships/merit aid.

And need based is still possible but unlikely.

Some schools will give very small scholarships, like $5,000 per year to a really needy ED'er. But everyone above is right. If you ED, then you absolutely need to be prepared to pay full cost for every expense.

Where are you planning to ED? I was ED and still got a large need-based grant. However, this isn't something you should bank on.

Law school aid is almost entirely merit-based, which is used to attract applicants with high numbers away from other schools. ED applicants have already committed to attending, so it makes no sense for schools to offer them any money.

What evidence do you have of this?

It depends greatly on the school. Michigan for instance is very formulaic with their aid and many EDers received merit aid. A few searched on lawschoolnumbers.com should shed some light...
