Will schools increase the cost of attendance used for certifying loans for a student who is married with a child, and was the primary provider before law school?

Yes. I think a fairly common number is 5000 for the first kid and 4000 for every kid after that.
From USC website
Your actual expenses may differ from those listed here. In some cases you may have lower expenses in one category which can compensate for higher expenses in another area. We are extremely limited in our ability to approve budget increases. While it may be possible to request a budget increase for certain expenses such as the purchase of a computer for law school, child care costs, health insurance, etc., it will not be possible to obtain a budget increase to cover such expenses as credit card and other consumer debt payments, car payments, etc.

I am also interested in this. Does anyone have any experience with it?

I spoke to my school about this. There is a form I fill out to request an increase in my COL budget for the cost of childcare. It's pretty basic stuff for them so I would just call your particular school )once you are decided) and ask them what you need to do.
