I'm concerned that I wont receive financial aid info until after seat-deposit time, thus complicating my decision making process?

If I submit need based forms today, is there any chance I'll hear back within the month of march? If not, would it be appropriate to speak with the financial aid office at each school I am interested in to see what estimated award i may receive? My parents are divorced and both make low salaries (for some perspective, i received perkins loans and pell grants throughout college). I am hoping to receive consideration for low-interest loans, and in a perfect world, need-based grants.

Does anybody have an idea regarding turn-around time on this? Would it be helpful to ask Fin Aid offices for an estimate as seat-deposit deadlines approach?

It definitely depends on each school. I would not count on much need-based aid for law school, though.

Yea I hear you on that, and am well aware of how rare need-based aid is in law school except in significant circumstances. However, an award could help me make a decision on what school I ultimately attend. Low-interest loans versus high-interest loans could make a huge difference in what i consider to be an acceptable amount of debt to accept.
