Negotiating a bigger scholarship package

Post by jjman1982 » Tue Feb 23, 2010 2:31 pm

Does anyone have any advice on how to negotiate a bigger scholarship package?
I was offered a sizable scholarship from a good school; As it is a private school, the remaining tuition along with living costs presents a daunting problem. Obviously, I will need to take out loans, like everybody else, but the less I owe after graduation the better.
Any advice on how to approach the financial aid office to request a bigger scholarship, without sounding like an ungrateful sob?

Much appreciated!

If you type in scholarship negotiation into the forum search box you will find tons of advice. The jist of it is, e-mail said school, inform them of other offers you have received (hopefully better offers from schools that are just as good if not better), tell them you love their school but financing is an issue, do all of this politely, $$$.
