Just got an e-mail from a school that admitted me a few months ago: "Dear Mr. x, I wanted to remind you that to reserve your seat you ahve to submit your deposit by yada yada yada. pls let uz no if u hav kwestionz"
This school is my no.2 choice and will probably stay that way barring serious financial incentive. This school is also known for waiting to march to send out said fin-aid offers. Is now a good time to send a polite "Dear Dean y, I'm very interested in your school but am currently trying to make some difficult decisions, especially with regard to financing my legal education etc. etc. etc." ?
Or should I wait?

You're an admitted student. You only want know what is happening. They must understand that you are courting other schools, and I am sure they would be happy to field whatever questions you may have regarding financial aid.

I'm very curious about this, too, since I got what I'm guessing is the same e-mail this morning and the same question occurred to me. Could you update this thread or PM me with what happens if you do respond to the e-mail with questions about financial aid/scholarship? Thanks! And good luck!

I'm sure it's just a mass email they send to everyone. I don't think that a polite email like you stated really means anything to them. It won't change any of their decisions or make their process go faster. You aren't asking them to do anything or respond.
If you have an actual question for them, then go ahead and shoot an email.

Yes, of course the e-mail about seat deposits was generic, and of course asking isn't going to change their process of financial aid decisions. I was curious if the OP's inquiry might shed any light on their process/timeline, and I was curious how open to discussion they seem to be.
