Do I have a chance of getting a 1/2 or full ride in the T40?

It really depends on what schools you're looking at and when you applied. If you applied pretty early, I would think you stand a good chance for $$$ at most T30-T40 schools (Wake, Alabama, W&L, etc). If you just applied (or haven't yet), $$$ will probably be drying up soon at many places regardless of your numbers.

Edit: Also, I wouldn't necessarily bank on a full/half scholarship at these schools. Your LSAT and GPA are solid, but I'm not sure if they're high enough to get you that much money.

I have very similar numbers to you (my GPA is a tenth of a point higher) and i got a total of 60 grand from William and Mary and 84 grand from Wake. Still waiting on Washington and Lee and Emory to maybe show me some love. But like mentioned above, I applied very early, I am not sure to what extent that affects the bottom lines.

I'm becoming a bit of an Indiana troll/whore, but I would apply there with your numbers. I recently received a full ride there with a 165/3.9. You should get at least a half-ride with your numbers.

I sent in all of my apps around January 1st. I applied to most schools in the T40-20 except the Boston schools and Notre Dame.

I agee. If you are in search of money, IU-B might be your best choice in light of the fact that they are continually targeted LSATs above a 164 so as to guarantee their median. You may also want to strongly consider W&M and American (although not in the T40).

Also, you best bet in terms of $$$ may be attending law school in-state (assuming that your state can call home to a T50 school).

State is IA, so I'm hoping they throw up some decent $$$.

That's quite possible. Watch out for scholarship stipulations and section stacking there, though.

Did your ride to Indiana come with any stipulations? I know Iowa demands top 1/3 for most of their scholarships.

I have similar numbers (166/3.75) and am scholarship-driven, and applying/applied January, so I'll try to give you my thoughts.

I'd say you'll likely get 25-28k per year from Wake.

I don't know if you applied to Emory, but they sometimes give big money to people in your range (and they have the just-past-deadline Woodruff Fellowship app).

Iowa is a very good shot for full ride, as is Indiana, but I'd like to hear what IUB's scholly requirements are as well.

You might get something from WUSTL, but I guess I'd doubt it due to your GPA being right at their median. If you had a 3.7 they could give you up to 20k/year.

Illinois - 10k-20k/year is a possibility.

Alabama - Will give you a full ride or close.

Ohio State - 7-10k/year

Arizona - 1/2 or more is a good bet.

Indiana's scholarship is no-strings attached. You simply have to pass classes and refrain from "academic dishonesty".

It's the best deal going.

If I got a ride from a T25 school with no strings attached, I'd jump on it. All of the prestige whores here are stupid... why would you go to a T14 school and leave with $200,000 in debt when you could go to a T25 and leave with $30,000? Oh well, thanks for leaving more $$$ for me!
