Top Law Schools

My parents are divorced and my mom has had sole custody since I was 7. I'm an independent now (graduated UG in '08). My dad is halfway around the world and has never cooperated with paying for things. We had to take him to court to pay less than 10% of UG tuition and that was already in black and white in the divorce papers.

I know that most schools want both parents' financials even if the parents are divorced. Some say you can appeal having to submit one or both of these (I can easily submit my mom's so that's not an issue). Has anyone done this? What did you say and what was the outcome?
