So I've been under review at harvard since 11/4, and have yet to get a JR1. I'm not panicking, but i've noticed others who went under review around the same time, that have gotten the jr1 email.

any of you guys get it?

picaresco did - cuban - I forget his stats but they were impressive.

nobody else as far as I know; then again, for the most part I don't know who is URM on this board and who isn't...

under review since 10/29, nothing yet.

I'm really curious as to how they evaluate URM candidates. I'm wondering, if like you said stevens, they just wait for a batch of us and then select the best of the bunch. Haven't submitted yet, will probably do it on Friday. Good luck!

3.8/165 AA Male here. I already had my JR1 last week, and know 2 other URM males who also have spoken with Mr. Rubenstein.

Thanks! I applied on the very first day that the HLS application opened (sept 15th if i recall correctly). And the questions he asked were no different than those discussed in other threads on this site.

No for me. I went under review the day after you though. I think as they get busier the time lapse between going under review and sending the invites will get longer. As someone pointed out in another forum, 1000 ten minute phone calls is 4 full 40 hour weeks of calls, not including time for taking notes or whatever. Hopefully it isn't time to panic yet.

Finally got it! But it can take a while...I went complete 10/08 and just got the email today.There is hope!

yes it is...same to you!

FWIW guys from URMs that I have talked to who were accepted to HLS, HLS often waits to take a lot of their URM applicants (especially Blacks) until relatively late in the cycle unless they have insane numbers like Booby, or applied really early like the poster with the 3.8 165 combo. A lot of the URMs who get in with the 3.6 164 and 3.8 160 combos don't get in until the spring. A lot of them get in--but they just have to wait it seems.

Kurama - so they got the JR1 and just didn't hear back?

i have a 3.2ish gpa and a 170. have been complete for about 3 weeks. any chance im getting a jr 1?

Should I apply to HLS?

Yes. Do not self-select yourself out of the process.

Kurama, that was somewhat calming to read, since I'm coming from the regular Harvard 2010 forum which is full of people who got JR1s long ago.

I was complete on 10/8, I'm an AA Female with 3.7/165 but really strong softs. No JR1 yet. Should I pretty much give up hope at this point? I've gotten in to Michigan and Georgetown so I know I should feel happy. Still, Harvard's Harvard...

Had my interview on 11/20. Stats in profile and LSN. Non-AA URM.

There doesn't seem to be too much data for URM splitters (175+/sub-3.5). Has anyone received a JR1 who is not a reverse splitter?

i got a pre-thanksgiving JR1 and i'm a URM splitter - gpa>75th percentile, lsat <25th percentile

there's hope for many! just keep on submitting!
