Chances for Puerto Rican Woman, undergrad, 3.96/165

Post by jmharlaniii » Sun Aug 30, 2020 10:11 pm

Hey y'all! I am applying this fall and narrowing down where to send apps. I am shooting for a T14, considering BU, GW, and ND as safties right now. Stats: 3.96 GPA/ 165 lsat, many research softs, and worked during college. Any suggestions where to apply and have the best odds? Any recommendations on where to best get scholarships from? Also, yea or nay on ED?

I know it's a cliche on this board, but...

if you can retake and get to 170+, you're looking at $$$ at T6s (potentially full rides), HYS with Y in the running.

You'd be leaving a TON of money on the table, and admissions to the best law schools, were you to apply with a 165. Going to BU or GW would be such a waste of that (amazing) GPA.

ED is a bad idea in 99% of cases. It provides a minimal, if nonexistent boost and forecloses tens of thousands in scholarships or better admissions options. The only exception is Northwestern's ED scholarship. (https://www.law.northwestern.edu/admiss ... %20School.)

+1.
The comparable applicant pool is small, but you can see there's a clear difference in outcomes and $$$ for non-AA URMs at...
