So I took the LSAT in November and got a score of 148. I decided to retake in January, assuring myself I could do better by putting in the same amount of time in the effort I did the first time. Unfortunately, I bombed freaking out during the test (hands shaking and all) and scored a 144. I'm not looking to get into a T14 or anything. Looking at schools like Howard, Barry, Rutgers, Indiana. I would love to go to law school this cycle. Do you think I should submit an addendum?

You should retake. Not to be rude, but a 144 does not scream “I can pass the bar.” Retake and perfecting logic games should comfortably get you into all these schools.

(Borrowing the format from last year.)

Type of URM: AA

Attending: Berkeley, almost $$$$

GPA: 3.8

LSAT: 161

Undergrad: HBCU

Softs: average gov./policy internships, studied abroad, some campus involvement, 1 year WE

Approx. Time of Application: Most submitted by October, all submitted before December.

Other acceptances: Duke $$, Cornell $$, Georgetown $, Vanderbilt $$, UConn $$$$, Howard $$$$, GW $ (barely, lol)

Rejections: N/A

Waitlists: Penn, UMich

Advice: Do all the specific scholarship(!!!!!) and supplemental essays. Also, apply broadly and ask for fee waivers. Before I learned how important it is to negotiate scholarships from peer schools and that my goals are "unicorn PI" and would require going to a T14, I thought I could just got to UConn or Howard, or even use their offers to up whatever Georgetown would give me (very dumb, I know). If I had to do this again, I would have applied to more of the T14, even the ones I visited and disliked. More leverage would have made this less stressful. Besides that, shoot your shot. My friend convinced me to apply to Berkeley, which I thought was totally out of my reach, and look what happened. I promise my application was not perfect, so shoot your shot and see what happens.
