Outside Scholarships Recommended for URMs
Getting merit-based scholarships from schools isn’t the only way to save on law school expenses!
Below is a list of outside scholarships that are available to URMs. Please click on the respective links to find further details on eligibility and how to apply.

If you come across a scholarship for URMs that does not appear on this list, please add it and tag/quote me and I will be sure to add it to the OP.

Scholarships for Entering 1Ls:

SEO Law Scholarship- $10,000/$5,000/$5,000
Deadline: February 1, 2017
URM Groups Targeted: AA, Hispanic, NA
Eligibility: Students must have a minimum 3.5 GPA and 155 LSAT and must answer the following prompt in 500 words or less: One of SEO’s values is giving back. It is not about you, but those who came before you and those who will come after you. Please explain how you’ve applied this principle to your life to date.

ABA Legal Opportunity Scholarship Fund - $15,000
Deadline: March 2, 2017
URM Group Targeted: Any
Eligibility: Must be entering first year of an ABA accreddited law school in 2017, minimum 2.5 GPA, permanent resident of the USA

LMJ Scholarship Program - $10,000
Deadline: June ? 2017 (Last Year was June 6, 2016)
URM Group Targeted: Any
Eligibility: The scholarship is available to diverse individuals who: have overcome obstacles, are outstanding and promising scholars, have an interest in corporate law, and possess a commitment to diversity and inclusion

Morgan Lewis Diversity Scholarship Program - $40,000
Deadline: February 21, 2017
URM Groups Targeted: Any at UC Berkeley
Eligibility: Applicant must be enrolled at the University of California, Berkeley and must have completed their first year and are about to enter their second year and be of diverse ethnicity

Fredrikson & Byron's Minority Scholarship - $15,000
Deadline: March 31, 2017

Eligibility: Awarded to a 1L minority law student interested in practicing corporate law in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Des Moines, Iowa, or Bismarck/Fargo, North Dokota

Diversity in Law Scholarship - $30,000
Deadline: April 01, 2017
URM Groups Targeted: Any
Eligibility: Must be a first year law student (or second year law student in part-time program) at an ABA law school and must meet the following requirements: 1) be a member of a group that is underrepresented in law and 2) demonstrate a commitment to diversity that will be furthered with the scholarship. SEO Law Scholarship

Overview
The program offers three scholarships per year to help promising Black, Hispanic and Native American incoming law students attend the law school of their choice. Awards are as follows:
