Top Law Schools

Hey guys! Its been a while since I posted. I am about to finish my junior year in college. I only really want to practice law in Texas, DC, and to a lesser extent in Florida. This narrows down my choices for law school, but I was wondering about the JD portability for law schools in the T-14 and schools such as UCLA, Vandy, Washu, and GWU. It seems like for the exception of HYS, most top law schools generally place you in the state you are studying law in. What top law schools for the exception of HYS and of course Texas have strong or decent placement in Texas?

The phrase is "with the exception of..."

Normally I wouldn't go all grammar police on you, but since you used "for the exception of" twice in a small paragraph I thought it might help you out moving forward. Once you get to law school, your legal writing professor will likely tell you to just write "excluding" or "other than" to be more concise, but you can cross that bridge later.

Chicago places in Texas. I'd imagine that most top 14 schools can get you there, though.

You have to keep self-selection in mind. For example, people who go to UCLA likely want to work in SoCal. I feel confident that you could get a job in DC or Texas with a UCLA Law degree. You just have to hustle and hope that luck is on your side.

I noticed this for a lot of schools. It generally seems like most top 20 schools have students choosing to work in other areas and not in Texas.
