First time poster.

I'm applying to the T-14, but I really want to get into Harvard. What are my chances? I'm an AA female, 169 LSAT 3.98 GPA, 2 years WE, decent softs.

Congrats on awesome numbers and congrats in advance on your admission.

Play around on MyLSN. Should be encouraging. http://mylsn.info/xv1lyu/

Congrats!!! Free advice. If you want Biglaw take the full ride that you're going to get and run lol. You will thank me later once you start practicing.

Blanket the t14, your numbers will almost certainly get you H and I'd be shocked if you didnt get at least H or Y, if not both. You're close to Ruby/Hamilton type numbers-which make no mistake, is the best possible outcome almost regardless of what you want to do.

Agreed, unless you're rich. Then go to Yale.

Yeah. Pay attention to this advice. You're going to get into Harvard but you'll also have very good offers from others. Think about mid to long term goals and make sure Harvard (financially) is the best way to get there. Obviously you cant really go wrong professionally going there.

You would have gotten into HLS in the peak application years, let alone now. Depending on your finances HLS may actually make sense because they do need based need only. But I'd still lean towards a full ride at whatever top 14 is strongest in the region you want to practice. I would heavily lean NYU/CLS over Harvard if you want NYC and they give you over $100K.

Getting a fully at CCN is a better outcome than Harvard, and you'll be competitive for the former, so, come decision time, don't let your conception of prestige blind you into taking an unnecessary 200K+ in debt.

I really appreciate everyone's input. I'll definitely apply to CCN in addition to HYS and see how the money shakes out. Thanks again!

Yeah, and honestly, I'll go a step further. You're very likely to get a full ride in the T-14, I've seen fellow AA's with around your numbers getting Darrow's (Mich), Dilliards (Virginia), Full rides at Berk through their matching policy, Levy's (Penn) etc. I won't go so far to say that HYS are overrated, but I think their placement advantage is pretty overblown for the vast majority of jobs, especially biglaw. If you're not 100% PI (and need super prestigious PI), or you absolutely need a clerkship, or are unsure of what you want to do, please for the love of god take the money, probably whilst considering geography.
