Advantages woul probably be the same as non-urms...slightly higher acceptance rates (at some schools). The disadvantages appear to be greater though. Not only do you (most likely) get stuck paying sticker, but given the more unpredictable nature of urm admissions, you may be closing the door on surprisingly good options.

I guess if you have 1 single school in mind that you'd chose over any lower ranked school (even with a full scholarship) AND you'd choose that school at sticker over higher ranked schools at sticker, then the risks don't really matter. But not many people can honestly say that.

Highly recommend you don't do this. URM cycles are unpredictable blah blah blah, but also, paying sticker for law school in this day and age is insanity. First, you're very likely to get NYU as it is. Secondly, you're pretty likely to be one of these two people by the end of your cycle:

http://lawschoolnumbers.com/jcan91 (did better than NYU ED by getting Columbia)
http://lawschoolnumbers.com/MaroonURM (did way better than NYU ED by getting Michigan with that scholarship)

Alternatively, you could be this person:

...at which point, EDing won't help you.

I'd still be reluctant as a URM. 3.8/167 AAs have been known to get HYS, and it'd suck to throw that away on a binding ED to UVA.
