Don't do any of that. Disclose exactly what they ask and write about something vanilla.

most posters are going to agree with fratstar. writing about overcoming personal issues is often considered a risk, and a lot of people think that u shouldn't risk anything in a PS because PS's keep people out way more than they get people in
although I personally think that writing abt some of those things would be great as long as its well executed/written & u can convincingly convey that you have overcome the adversity and you are a better person because of it.
I would say at least draft a ps abt the adversity uve overcome and see how it looks & comes off.
