Just read an article on NPR about the SCOTUS upholding Michigan's ban on affirmative action. I understand that the ban itself isn't anything new, but does anyone expect the ruling on it to have any impact on admissions?

Debates re AA are banned, I'll tread lightly not to incite riots and you should too.

The pretext for upholding the voter initiative was arguably the merits of affirmative action, but the actual decision did not rest on the merits, but rather was about the political process -- so nothing should change from a law school admissions prospective.

Thanks for the responses. I didn't mean to debate the merits of AA...just get some insight into the possible impact on admissions . In any case, I probably should've searched more for earlier threads before posting another.

Cliff's note: focus will be on socioeconomic and other non-racial factors, but adcom's could still use a personal statement or other context clues to identify attractive diverse candidates.
