Have any AA members of TLS been accepted to HYS with similar stats? Particularly with a similar gpa...

I have NO clue about whether you would with the GPA. Maybe if it was a STEM major, you might get away with it?

Only profiles I've seen with low GPAs get into Harvard may have been fake and were obvious outliers in what is admittedly anecdotal data, but if that data is roughly representative, then it might be hard for you to get in with that GPA. I know Yale & Stanford are sticklers for GPA, so your chances for H would likely be better than Y&S.

I don't know of anyone who has. I've heard of people getting into Harvard with GPAs around yours, but I think they had 170+ LSATs. I've also seen people get into HYS with 168, but they all had at least 3.4 GPAs. That's no reason not to try, but I think it's a long shot.

You should be good for CCN with your stats, though.

I think it can be done. Probably Harvard more than S or Y. If you're KJD, take time off and write a killer personal statement and I'd recommend getting professors who are willing to write recommendations that say you're an outstanding writer.

Would you retake?

Personally idc about prestige like most people here, so if I were in your situation, I'd hope a T14 or a UCLA/USC/Vandy/Texas throws money at me, I'd take that over HYS with debt.

Now, of course, perspective is relative, and you're right there at the edge. Breaking 170 would inherently increase your chances, although I'm not sure how much of an increase would offset your GPA. So if you feel like you have room for improvement and your 168 wasn't more luck/right-place-right-time than skill, and you haven't applied this cycle, why not.

Ok guys, it's been a year since I last posted on this. I decided to not apply and took a job. I will matriculate to law school fall of 2016... Where should I apply? I have a 3.2 lsac gpa, decent softs, 2 years of solid work experience (by then), 168 lsat score, and I'm a black male. Would a retake help me get into HYS?

Great choice, the WE will definitely help. You definitely should retake though, I think Y&S are out but if you can get a 172-173+ you have a legit shot at Yale

Spend a few months studying, retake in June or September, whichever you're ready for, and enjoy Harvard (nothing guaranteed with that GPA but great chance) with a 173+

Apply to Harvard, Columbia, and the rest of the T-14 besides Yale & Stanford, in my opinion.

Where do you think I could get a full ride? That's what I would do if I didn't get accepted to HYS.

Hmm, a few years ago it seemed like there was 0 chance anyone w/ those stats was getting HYS outside of incredibly impressive softs

have admission standards really declined this much? or is it mostly AA boost? even then, AA wasn't worth this much just a few years back...

imo retake because it can mean a big difference for not THAT huge of an investment. even if you dont get HYS, a few pts higher on the LSAT could mean tens of thousands of dollars in scholarship money. few people seem to realize how great of a deal that is for studying a couple more months on a retake...cost/benefit is awesome :P

so many seem against retaking. i never understand why. LSAT is learnable to a certain degree.

t14 full ride might be really hard with that GPA. I have a 3.4 and 169. I was only looking for a big scholly, and applied to MVPDCNG, got waitlisted at MVPD, but initial offers of 120k at GULC, and 105k at C and NU. Since your GPA is set in stone, the best you can do is improve that LSAT. Even then, if you scored a 175, I think you'd have a better shot at Harvard than a full ride at a T14.

Yup. Full rides to t14s are more rare than H acceptances.
