Queer and Trans*: Grindr, Scruff, and mooorrreeeee

I know, it is late in the cycle, BUT it is a new year, which means new sluts and such. There have been threads like this in the past but I have not seen one like this for c/o 2017.
Has anyone visited UMich or UVA? Which one seems more queer friendly or like you could hookup with more than one someone?

Now if I could just hear back from Michigan...
Have you visited UMich? Heard anything about queer life at other schools?

Pretty sure there's not a single gay bar in Charlottesville, Virginia...just throwing that out there.

In Cville...
Impulse is a private gay club...pay annual membership fee and get "approved" by the board, meaning if you are lgbtq friendly.
There is also Escafe which if I remember correctly, turns into a gay club some nights (restaurant by day)
The University has a lot of groups, like Queer Student Union, etc. Movie nights, events, mixers, etc. (I'm sure Law has some too).
I went undergrad in the late 90's and mid 00's (long story) and found Charlottesville to be pretty gay friendly (even a couple of daycares that encourage same sex parents to come). I am not gay, however, so there may be a different perspective on the environment from "the inside" and I dont really know about hookups...although my understanding is that they can be found anywhere

Why are people voting for Mich over Georgetown? Just curious.

3 votes doesn't exactly make for useful statistics.

I am sort of really concerned about this? I am a sapphic-leaning bisexual, and the whole Michigan defending its gay marriage ban is making me nervous. Also the rape insurance bill.
I mean I can't speak for the state as a whole, but AA seemed totally fine. Obviously it's something you'd have to visit for yourself if you're concerned.

Thanks man. Yeah I'm going to ASW, so we'll see, I guess.

Oh, I thought that was what decisions were based on. 3 people

You're going to want to stay out of Virginia. I'd be suspect of anything south of that, too. There are some queers in Umich & Columbia, NYU, Yale are really really friendly.

Atlanta is really, really queer friendly. Anyone thinking of going to Emory should be well received in the area.

I think this statement is old fashioned. NC has some very gay-friendly areas. Not to mention Atlanta, Florida (where I live now), and hellooooo NOLA.

Isn't Ithaca College considered one of the gayest schools in the country? Not sure if the same is true for the surrounding city or Cornell.

I feel like the gays are uncharacteristically quiet this cycle.

AGREED. We are missing the loud and obnoxious queer kids.
