Applied to SEO law program with a 2.96 gpa and got a kind email the next day stating, "sorry but you are not eligible for this program" lol so much for your file being viewed wholelistically. Numbers are EVERYTHING! You need a 3.0 gpa and they are FIRM on that. Rules are rules. Even law school's deviate from their median numbers but not SEO. Goodluck to those that do apply, it seems like an awesome opportunity. Though I hear that they only accept students admitted into T25, on a good day but realistically T14 to have a solid shot.

Apps due by 2/15/14

Goodluck! :) :) :) :)

it says on the front page that you need a 3.0 to be eligible to apply...I'm not sure what you expected

+1. They are pretty firm in their requirements and the whole T14 or bust thing, but I heard that they've taken a Howard 0L or 2 in the past.

Just fyi they've taken a few non-T14s from more than just Howard [and those individuals were pretty remarkable.]

That was actually really nice of them to e-mail you. (Especially since the site says they strictly adhere to the 3.0+ cutoff) I submitted last week and haven't heard back. Then again I also just submitted my LS applications last week.

I applied with a 3.27 degree GPA, but a 2.995 LSDAS GPA and got an email saying that my application was received; I guess they go by degree GPA??

I'm excited for this opportunity!

Do they interview everyone that applies? I have yet to receive anything.

I also have yet to receive anything, and my GPA is considerably above their minimum requirement.
Then again, I am still waiting on almost every school I applied to.

This sounds like an employment discrimination exam question.

+1 I knew a few non-T14s during my SEO year as well.

Wait - this is the girl who got waitlisted/rejected from Howard and a # of TTT's, and refuses to retake because "as a double minority statistics do not apply." http://top-law-schools.com/forums/viewt ... 9&start=25

Any program is excess risk. OP, you have to realize it's over 99% likely that you will not be able to make loan payments so unless your parents are wealthy you want to keep debt as low as possible and save your money. Once your credit score drops below 500 you're going to need to have liquid assets to avoid being homeless again. I know you want to live the legal dream, and that's all great. I'm not saying you shouldn't make awful financial decisions, burden the taxpayer or make sure that others who work hard to do things rationally don't have to pay your loans through taxes. You are special, and others should work to pay for your dream. It's hard being so special, and you are appreciated. However, my realistic advice on this issue is to make sure you're only using loans, because you will need to have cash handy to avoid being homeless. We're accepting you will be financially ruined, and salute you in your courage. But you need to have liquid cash because you won't be able to get more loans once you graduate.

If one hasn't heard from from SEO by now, is it safe to say that that person just didn't get in? I haven't heard anything yet.
