Hello everyone. I am a MA with an LSDAS gpa of 3.91. I am taking the LSAT this October and have been studying diligently these last couple months and will continue to do so.

I aspire to attend YHS. My friend told me that I would need at least a 175 to even have a shot at Harvard. I want to know if this is correct.

170 would make you very competitive

I'm in a similar situation as you OP so I'll chime in with my 2 cents. First off Nova is right, get a 170 and you are going to be a very competitive applicant at Harvard and Stanford. Stanford is considered to be very interested in high G.P.A's so that works in your favor. I would say with a 170 you are almost a lock at Stanford since no URM applicant with a 170+ and a 3.7 has been rejected so far this cycle. Source: http://stanford.lawschoolnumbers.com/stats/1213

Yale is a lot more tricky and you can't just use numbers to determine your likelihood of admissions, though they do help. Per LSN you have 3.6, 168 getting accepted while a 3.9 176 got denied. That is why traditionally Yale is considered a crapshoot and no one is a lock to get in. Having a 173+ though will certainty increase your odds and a 170 will probably, at a minimum, be enough to get you waitlisted with a decent shot of getting in.

Use the URM-only feature on mylsn, but take into account that you won't receive nearly of substantial of a boost as AAs will.

In short, don't stop studying once you get to 162 just because kids *have* gotten into Harvard with that score. A 170 puts you in a really good position -- shoot for that.
