Am I out of the running for Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, Berkeley?
I'd like to stay in CA or go to NY. What do you guys think my options are for applying? UCLA would be nice

Ya, I probably screwed up the Harvard one. However, looking at the LSN there hasn't been much love for 3.4 URM's. I'm only counting 2 in the last 4 cycles that have gotten in with that GPA and some with a higher LSAT who were dinged.

There doesn't seem to be much data to go off of, but here's some info from LSN for URMs within your GPA/LSAT range:

Be careful with all this -- Mexicans get a substantially lower boost than black applicants. Mylsn is an amazing resource, but make sure to check the profiles within.

This. A URM 177 is a very rare thing and op is at 3.4 which matches well enough with the 177. Enjoy HYS man!

True. But only about 10 MAs score 170+ per cycle, so 177 puts OP in very rare air. OP may have the highest score of any MA who took the LSAT within the last year.

I wholeheartedly agree with this, but how does this compare with the lack of 3.4 GPA URM's that get into Harvard in particular? I really hope OP gets his pick of HYS, but it seems like he/she isn't a lock because of the lower GPA.

How many of those denied urm 3.4s had a 173+ LSAT?

+1. MAs may not get as much of a boost as AAs, but they still receive a boost. OP's GPA could be a bit higher but he/she is probably HYS bound.

I think if OP plays his cards right, he'll probably get into Harvard. He needs to make sure his essays and recs and other elements of his application are strong. He also needs to come across as normal and well adjusted in the interview. Non-URMs have been known to get into H with numbers like this, so considering the URM boost, he should have an excellent shot.
He probably has a good shot at Stanford depending on how interesting his softs are. Dean Deal seems to really be into holistically evaluating applicants and creating a diverse class. The 177 will help, but it's not dispositive there. Yale may be out because of his GPA-- they rarely accept anyone with much below a 3.7--but his LSAT score is so high that it's definitely worth applying.
