I plan to apply this upcoming cycle. Ideally I want to go to Seattle University or University of Washington.
173 LSAT 2.43 GPA (LSAC) Top 50 school

You could go much higher than that. With that 173, you should be looking at schools in the top 10. It would be up in the air with a low GPA, but it's worth aiming for.

Engineering major or something? You could try writing a GPA addendum.

I agree you should aim for at least T20 with that LSAT. Splitter friendly T15 is probably within reach, not sure about T10... you've got a ton of softs...

No I am a philosophy and history double major, freshman year is the albatross around my neck. I acquired 9 Fs and 4 Ds that year .

Was there a reason for those grades? That sounds serious. Someone with a 173 on their LSAT pulling 9 Fs? You either cheated on your LSAT or you were on LSD during all your exams.

Write an addendum. Don't mention the drugs.

Interviewing with your prospective law schools might help as well? I'm not sure.

I'd shoot higher, but keep in mind you may be able to retroactively withdraw from that semester if you have a good enough reason (family, medical, etc). GAIA, a mod on this site, was able to have some of her lower grades changed to W's, which don't factor into the GPA. Even a boost up to a 3.01 would make a significant difference in your cycle. It's going to be hit and miss right now, but getting rid of some of those old grades might get you up to where you're getting money at CCN.
