3.67 aa male 158 LSAT ( pting 163-169)
Hey everyone, longtime lurker finally opened an account after the disappointment that was the June LSAT.
What do you guys think of my chances at t14? Do I really need to retake?
I have strong softs ( played d1 basketball on scholarship, have a compelling story and good work experience with a very strong upward trend. 4.07 since 2009)
Also, should I include an addendum for my LSAT score? my grandmother died the day before the test, quite the debacle.
Looking forward to everyone's input

Yeah, you really should retake. Especially since you are disappointed with your score. Good luck, bro.

Yeah, wasting money on apps.
Retake.
You have good GPA. Get a good LSAT and you can probably get a few T14 bites. Yay.

Not as is. Even if you added ten points to your LSAT as a boost, it'd still be a stretch. Score where you've been prepping and you're T14 secure

OP is a AA MALE with a 3.6+ GPA. Really hard to come by these. Legit chance at lower t14, but retaking would do wonders for you.

OP, if AA=African American Male you definitely have a shot at the lower t14 with your numbers. Take a look at lawschoolnumbers.com
You wouldn't be wasting $$ on apps with your numbers as is, if you feel you can score higher definitely retake but don't think you don't have a shot with your current numbers

Yea I was pretty sure that's what you meant, here's a couple of links to posters on lsn, there's a lot more on the website if you want to check it out... Like I said I would definitely recommend a retake if you know you can do better but you have a solid shot with you current numbers

op--as of now you will prob miss the t-14---every year there will be aa's who get in with high 150s on the lsat, but most dont. That said, if you get 163+, you will be in a different tax bracket for the rest of your life. Not only will you get t-14, you will get $$. If you get 165+, you are looking at guarenteed 90k scholly's and prob an acceptance to H and S. do yourself a favor--retake, get a good score and profit for the rest of your life.--

I do recommend retaking, too.
But, check
this out for some historical data based upon your current position.
Not great chances anywhere in the T14, but oddly enough you seem to have a pretty good shot at Chicago. Texas is looking good, maybe with money.

This is relevant to my interests. My grandfather died a week before the June LSAT.
I would also recommend a retake.

Oh, I didn't see this part:

Sorry about your grandmother. But if I'm sitting on a adcomm, I'm going to be thinking two things:
1) So, why didn't you cancel?
2) So, why didn't you retake?

So, the deal is, retake for at least a 165, and you'll pretty much be set. That said, you might still be able to pick up Cornell, Vandy, and some other T20s with your current score.
But dude... retake.

I agree with the retake vote, especially because it seems as though a score increase is likely if not probable. Do you have the time/resources to plan for an Oct retake?

Ya, the reason I asked is because I am taking max units in the fall+ my senior thesis+ commuting quite a distance. This is also why I didn't cancel my June score.
Basically I'm probably just going to let it ride for this cycle, my gpa will be around 3.73 when im all done with 4.0 deg gpa.
Hopefully it works out ok, if not I'll just prep for the next cycle in 2013
Thanks for all your help guys, can't wait to see how everything goes. The way I see it, I only need one school I like to offer me admission, since I can only attend one.
Good luck fellow applicants

Thats a pretty cool breakdown you have there lsatscores. I've looked a lot at Lsn but never had it broken down like that.
I've seen a decent amount of urm success on Lsn with same or worse numbers. I'll just get my apps out as soon as possible and hope for the best
