Half and Half. Choose one or the other?

Half Black.
Half PR.

Is there an option to choose both? Choose one? If so, which one would give me a better boost.

Have you logged on to your LSAC account? You can check all or none of the boxes. I'd imagine you would get the bigger boost, which is AA, rather than both.

Yea I've logged into my LSAC already. I chose PR because I'm light skin but I want to take full advantage of being a URM and was wondering which is the way to go.

If you're both, you can check both. As far as what "boost" you should get, well, thats up to the adcoms.

This. I recommend a diversity statement (or PS focused on your heritage) to highlight it to them.

Choose AA only. That will give the biggest boost.

Do not choose both, that puts you in the pile of half Caucasian, Elizabeth Warren type people.

The above is truly terrible advice and should be ignored.

Elizabeth Warren isn't in trouble because she's "half Caucasian". She's in trouble because she alleged having NA ancestry that doesn't appear to exist at all. She (allegedly) misrepresented herself, which OP wouldn't be doing by checking both AA and PR, since OP is both AA and PR.

I wish people would stop misrepresenting what Warren's story means to current applicants.

I don't get why applicants would be willingly be deceitful/conniving about their URM status. If you're 1/4 AA, 1/4 MA, 1/4 Indonesian, and 1/4 Antarctican, you check all the boxes, and you write about all of them in your DS. If you leave any of them off, you're representing yourself as not-those races. You can obviously decline to state, but it seems wrong and inconsistent to weasel URM status to whatever has the highest chance of benefiting you personally.

By the way, according to LSN, AA/white and MA/white at least seem to get the same boosts as their fully-AA/MA counterparts.

Cafe con leche, yerp. Though being from DR its hard to say half when everyone in your family is a bit mixed.

I'm in love with these half espresso - half condense milk shots. Its like a 5hour energy but the taste is off the charts.
