Chances at T14?

You are likely to be admitted to several law schools ranked seventh through fourteenth, and should receive serious consideration from one or two top six law schools, in my opinion.

Michigan is currently one of my top choices. Any idea on where I should be aiming for when I retake the LSAT to have the best shot there with $$? (Ok i'm aiming for a 180. LOL More realistically, what would I need?)

165+ should net you scholly's. 170+ is even better, of course.

URM cycles are a bit unpredictable. In many of the above cases, the same person got waitlisted or rejected by schools that are equivalent to or even worse than the schools they ended up attending. You need to apply widely, too. While you may hope to go to a particular school (like Michigan), your best shot is to apply to all of the T14 and see which ones take you or offer you money to attend. You've also got to make sure your application is the best it can possibly be, that your personal statement and resume are free of errors, and that you have strong recommendations.

If you could raise your LSAT score it would most certainly increase the odds of acceptance and scholarship money at the T14. A 170+ would probably get you full rides at several T14 schools, and you may honestly not even need that much. It's a good goal to aim for, though. But while that would put you in a better position, you have good reason not to stress too much: With a well-polished application you have a chance at getting into these schools now.

I think you're already in decent shape, but a few more points could definitely help.

As it stands right now, you are most probably in Michigan. I'd think of October as an opportunity to make dolla dolla bills. If you could somehow get over their median (169, I believe), as a black female with a respectable albeit not great GPA, you may be looking at 100k. Odds are one of MVP will give you 100k, and you can negotiate.

I'd view the LSAT as your f/t job because although you're likely in your target school, now you can greatly lower the COA. Even if you were the best in Michigan, you likely won't be able to make 100k with 2 months of hard work.
