Chances for Chicago

Post by maize315 » Mon Jan 31, 2011 10:17 pm

Hey all,

I'm back! So, after some thought, I have decided to focus on corporate law. Hopefully, make partner and one day become general counsel.

My question is I am interested in attending several schools. Chicago, Columbia, NYU, and Michigan. Stats are not that great as you can see in my profile. I do in addition to what I have listed, have a year of experience as a Banker with JP Morgan.

What do you all think? Any chance?

When are you applying? What type of URM are you?

An AA Male with a 3.4/165 combo has a shot at all the schools listed above, but I think you have a good shot at Chicago. Looking at LSN, all these URMs had #'s in your ballpark and got accepted:

http://lawschoolnumbers.com/iag06/jd 3.5/162
http://lawschoolnumbers.com/futuremsjd/jd 3.5/162
http://lawschoolnumbers.com/maroon2010/jd 3.5/164
http://lawschoolnumbers.com/jdtaylo/jd 3.3/166

I'd say if you're applying for Fall 2011, retake the LSAT if you can in June to increase your chance of admission. Good luck!

I think you're in at all of those schools. You may need to get above a 167 to get HYS though.
