AA Male - 162 Chance me!

Lots of undergraduate leadership experience and 2 years at a top 10 financial firm.

3.21 adjusted GPA, Cum laude. Had one rough year, but a great rebound senior year. Doubt that qualifies as an upward trend.

Chance me.

Duke
UGA
Vandy
UVA
UNC
NU
Anywhere else I've got a shot.

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback, but care to share your reasoning? UGA's median is a 164. You say no shot, I'm thinking in. Are you just looking at lawschoolpredictor.com? Studied for 30 days. Looking like I'll retake in Feb and pop it to 95+ percentile land.

That's my adjusted GPA. It took a dip after conversion (thank you LSAC) And the numbers vary with school depending on general percentiles.

The problem is not ur LSAT but ur GPA -- the "URM boost" mainly consists of a 5-7 point LSAT score boost, for most URM decisions (at least from what I've seen) their GPA does not seem to get reconsidered greatly...

btw, it seems like Vandy has admitted 160/3.0 URMs in the recent past, but these are exceptions not the rule... so yeah, I may have to edit the Vandy (no shot) to -------> Vandy (small shot)...

Lol. Thanks, bro. That's what I needed to hear. I'm thinking a 168-172 might get me over the hump? Thoughts?

A 170 would give you a solid shot for CCN...

Seems like folks seem to forget you're coming in with 2 years of work experience. This matters, especially for Northwestern.

Very strong chance of admittance at UGA and Vandy.

UVA, Duke and NU are also possibilities, if you really work hard on those statements and write a decent addendum explaining your GPA.

Also add UMich, NYU and Cornell to the list. Hey, you never know.

OP, do not listen to this person. This poster knows nothing of which he speaks. I'll suggest that you apply from CCN down.

Prepare to be disappointed if you apply to the t-14, the best thing you may hope for are some WLs...

In at Georgia, UNC & many, many others. I am often surprised at URM admissions. Apply to all schools that are of interest to you. You've received some good advice in this thread. Good luck !

So moral of the story is Do NOT listen to the guy with all the no shot responses. I attend Vandy undergrad and I know alot of the URM's attending its law school. Most got in with 160-165, reasonable GPAs, and and excellent softs. You have a chance!
