I am a bisexual male and I decided not to write a diversity statement, but rather incorporate my work in LGBT-advocacy groups and politics into my personal statement. I recognize that being bisexual does not qualify for URM and I wouldn't expect it to, but do schools take this identity seriously? Do they see it as adding to the diversity?

Some schools have a box you can check on the application under the ethnicity section. I assume this would be there because it does matter.
