Top Law Schools

I know that I have rocked this boat before but was just curious if there is any new information out there.

So I am a "Native" Hawaiian and still searching for stats on how Hawaiians are viewed in the eyes of Adcoms. On TLS There was only info on 1 girl that went to law school but no real stats. I know that technically Hawaiians are grouped with Asians but not on LSAC and on most apps I have searched over. I am not sure at exactly what I am getting at here, I would just like to get a clearer picture on the subject, I am sure out of all the categories, Hawaiians would technically be the most underrepresented.

Native Hawaiian is almost always grouped with Pacific Islander. Nothing's changed. You're not rocking the boat, you're just being annoying.

Not necessarily. If I understand it correctly, URM status is given when the percentage of people in law school of a given race or ethnicity is less than the percent of that race or ethnicity present in the country. So, for example, based on the most recent census data available, blacks make up 12.9% of the US population, yet only 7.3 of law school matriculants were black, hence, URM status. In contrast, asian americans make up 4.6% of the US population and 5% of the law school matriculants (if you look at the numbers for the T14, asian students are actually Over represented), hence not getting URM status.

So, most recent census data says that 0.2% of the U.S. population is native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander. It's hard to find specific numbers about the percentage of Pacific Islanders attending law school, since the general grouping is API (Asian/Pacific Islander) and they're not often separated out. However, since Pacific Islanders make up such a small segment of the U.S. population, it's entirely possible that they are well represented in law schools, even if the actual numbers of pacific islanders matriculating are small.

If there is a box for Native Hawaiian, check that one.
If not, check American Indian or Native American. Just because the U.S. government thinks it would be a big financial bummer to recognize the original sovereignty of Native Hawaiians, doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. You're Native, your traditional land base is in one of the 50 U.S. states. You're good.

Almost every app I can recall has a space for native Hawaiian.

Due to the rarity I doubt you would find some if any. I'd just start with any applicant around your numbers.
