C/O 2013: How Accurate was LSP?

In hindsight, I spent far more time than was necessary on the thing. All things considered, it was more of a help figuring out what my LSAC GPA was going to be rather than what my cycle was going to be. This thread isn't to diss the thing, but just a general question about the experience fellow URM applicants had with it. Would you recommend other URM's to use it?
The answer for me would be no and I've told future URM applicants to avoid letting it influence their applications.

I agree. URMs should use the Median Application Method. Or MAM for short. LSP is too pessimistic for at least some minorities (especially AA males).

I think it's a good place to get a ballpark figure for URM's - to get them looking at higher ranked schools than they would otherwise. Then direct them to something like LSN or TLS for better perspective/specific instances.
Edit: Just used it again and checked it against my cycle. Waaay off. But I stand by the fact that it got me thinking about schools that were way above what I originally considered.

So, it encouraged you to send applications to schools you wouldn't have considered otherwise? That's the opposite of what happened to me - it would have made me look at schools far below where I could have been accepted.

I saw your post on the MAM and I thought it was very helpful, if i'm recalling it correctly; something about your odds if your numbers are at 25th at median at 75th, one at 25th one at 75th etc. But how does it apply to URM's?

bump for more votes and opinions. I think this is a rather important topic. If LSP is was as terribly inaccurate for me as it is for many URM's then they need to know that they shouldn't use it.

Combination of LSP, LSN and TLS helped. From T30 schools down very accurate. But T30 and above accuracy plummets substantially . It is better to seek out a physic than use LSP.
