I am white male. moreover, im jewish (i think that makes me OverRepMinority). However, I'm an immigrant, who left home at 15 and traveled the world alone, and arrived in the US by myself. Served in the US military, and supported myself in the course of college by working full time. so basically, I have lots of unusual circumstances (which i am planning to put on my PS) but my race and nationality does not make me a URM, would this still help?

URMS are only Native American, Puerto Rican, Mexican American, or African American.

Those are pretty interesting softs, include them in your PS and they should help you.

military experience is a pretty good soft factor.
