About Duke and Georgetown

Goal is federal gov't. and would eventually like to shoot for academia if my grades are good enough and if I am successful at getting something published. But initial goal is a federal regulatory agency.
Let me add that I have not yet been admitted to either school and there is no guarantee that I would get into either, so this is hypothetical.
I am putting this thread in the URM forum because I want comments from a minority perspective on the 2 schools. From reading the very large URM thread for this cycle, it did not seem that there were many AA applicants that were excited about Duke. So I wanted to get people's thoughts on the atmosphere at Duke for minority candidates.
Because G'town is in DC I would guess that it would be the preferred school for federal govt. but Duke places well overall. Also, Durham's cost of living is one of the factors I am strongly considering. I just want to see if others know of reasons that Duke might not be a good place for me and my family.
Thanks.
