How many times did you take the LSAT? (As in, is the 149 a diagnostic or a previous exam)JGF60623 wrote:I've been working as a legal assistant since graduation; UG GPA: 3.1 (I was working 30-35 hrs/week throughout college); LSAT: 153 (pretty mediocre, I know but an improvement over my initial 149); interned w/State's Attorney's Office.
Goal: Start as a local prosecutor, eventually become a federal prosecutor.
Ideally, I'd stay in Chicago. Don't know if I should shoot for Northwestern or Chicago (super, super reach). I'd love to go to Loyola, Kent or DePaul.
What are my chances? Any advice?

Chicago doesn't like diversity statements.BigFatPanda wrote:As Mexican American and who has experience of life in inner city Chicago, if you can pump your score to 160 (as suggested by above poster) and write a kick ass diversity statement about your contribution to life in the "hood", you can pretty much affirmative action your way into Chicago or Northwestern or both.
So, sign up for Testmasters, take October 2010 LSAT, and Good Luck.
You should definitely retake the LSAT, that 153 won't get you very far. Are you a first generation immigrant/college grad? If so, coupled with an LSAT in the high 160s and kick ass PS and DS, you should be in at Northwestern.JGF60623 wrote:
Only because I think it may help: 2.5 years out of college; already stated my s; inner-city Chicago.
