General Advice Needed Please

Hi everyone I am new here but have been lurking for a few months. I would really like some feed back about my chances of getting into a decent law school considering my situation.

First my situation is a little unique because I transferred from a community college after being there for 4 years due to not being motivated and not really knowing what I wanted to do with my life. Originally I had planned to become a fire fighter and took a few classes towards that but didn't end up liking it as much as I thought I would, after that i focused on just finishing my ge courses.

Unfortunately I was only going to school part time and working close to full time, which is another reason I was there for 4 years and finally ended up transferring to a public university with a cumulative gpa of 2.75. I'm working harder here at the University and currently have a 3.56 gpa.

I'm still working but only part time, while also being involved in student orgs and have coordinated a couple events on campus. I am a little worried about my gpa because after using law school predictors LSDAS gpa calculator my gpa is at 2.87. I still have another year before I graduate, I plan to take the LSAT in December if I feel ready, I checked out a few kaplan and princeton review study guides at the library I work at and been looking over those for the last couple weeks. I plan to really start studying for the test when school is over in a couple of weeks.

I have an option to stay an extra quarter and graduate the fall of 2011 if I decided to, which I am considering to raise my gpa hopefully.

I know with out a LSAT score it is really hard to predict what are my chances but any advice or comments would really be appreciated.

Cliff notes
-Went to a community college for 4 years transferred with a 2.75 gpa
-currently have a 3.56 gpa at my current University and graduate next spring but have an option to stay an extra quarter to complete a minor, which im considering to raise my gpa.
-together according to law school predictors LSDAS gpa calculator I have 2.87 gpa
-plan really start studying for the LSAT in a couple weeks once school is over and plan to take the test in December.
-I have been working through my time in college and a member of student orgs on campus.
-Any advice or comments would be appreciated

Thanks

I'm mexican american if it matters, which im sure it does a little bit.

If you can raise your gpa, raise it. BUt no one can really give any advice without knowing what your goals are? Firm work? Government? Public Interest?
