I'm a registered member of the Cherokee Nation (Western Band) and I was just wondering how much that would help me at in the T30?

It's a significant boost in the admissions process.

But I am troubled by lowered standards being set for some minorities as if you all aren't as capable. Kind of racist.

with your GPA you'd be doing yourself a disservice not to apply to every school in the t14 and then whatever other schools you'd like to get a lot of $$ from

Nobody's standards are being lowered. They just receive extra consideration for admission. That's all.

I don't feel as if the standard is lower so much as it's a known fact that up until about a generation ago it was very unlikely we would attend college let alone law school. For my family this means most of them didn't go on past high school because they didn't have the money--or the right education--to do so. I don't think anyone can disagree that in general having parents who graduated college increases their child's chance to graduate college. Not all of the time . . . but way over 50%.

Statistics and probability aside, you are your own individual and you will success if you put your mind and energy into your work. If a school admits you, it's because it knows you are capable of competing with the rest of your classmates.

This aspect of your ability to succeed has very little to do with your background.

I'd just add that where you've been often has a lot to do with where you're going.

Do not listen to this. This is completely inaccurate. It will help you objectively 4.

But you have to consider where she's been. I mean, so far it's led her to scores that make her ask this question. Who knows where it will lead next.

Assuming that the standards set are good standards. I'm not as concerned with the raising or lowering of the bar because I think the bar itself sucks ass.

in·teg·ri·ty ( n-t g r -t ). n. 1. Steadfast adherence to a strict moral or ethical code. 2. Something you apparently lack as a person, making your username highly ironic.
