Our atrium is probably the most gorgeous building created by the hand of man.

and hayman, it's true. I've spent enough time in Morningside Heights... the rest of the campus is quite gorgeous, though.

Poor Nesker. To think he might actually have to clean up his act now. That would be like the end of an era.neskerdoo wrote:OperaSoprano wrote:I have all the help I could ever really need.Carlisle wrote:you need helpOperaSoprano wrote:Every law school is beautiful to those who love it. I think the Hogwarts reference (on page 6) was in reference to WUSTL, not UWash

that's right, I pretty much explicitly said sonapolnic wrote:You obviously have never been to the law school.Borhas wrote:All this UVa love is not really warranted. I've seen the campus many times, and while it's great in the fall, it's not so great any other time of the year. All of VA is beautiful in the fall though, the UVa campus in general is nice if you have some sort of attachment to brick buildings and white columns. Furthermore the interiors of the building are all really dreary and claustrophobic. Granted, that's probably because they are all really old buildings, and maybe the law school is really different, but I have never been impressed.
anyway seemed like most people were using the UVa campus as whole to justify their reasoning and I commented on it, though probably more harshly then I should have.

I won't pretend the architecture holds up to UoW or Yale standards, but the view from Boyd isn't too shabby:
Also, those four pics from Washington might have been the only days it didn't rain all year :p 300+ days of sunshine ftw.

the desert is great if you're into it, and boyd is good school, but this building looks like a sports arena or something.Vegas_Rebel wrote:I won't pretend the architecture holds up to UoW or Yale standards, but the view from Boyd isn't too shabby:

I used to walk by this every day when I lived behind Lincoln Center. It is underwhelming at the least and depressing at the most. Too bad for industrialist, functionalist architorture.

Re: Best Law School Campus
The NYU Law campus (if you can call it that) is really an oasis. I was there when there was a lot of construction going on in Washington Square, and it reminded me of an eastern European war zone rebuilding. Someone was on their cell phone trying to arrange a drug deal about 10 feet away from a police officer. You have to really love the surrounding shops and restaurants (not to mention the Arc de Triumphe doppelganger)...hopeandwork wrote:Wow I think I'm really liking Michigan and Cornell. NYU has a great location in the Village. If you can afford to live there, you likely won't be disappointed. The law building I saw at NYU is pretty nice also, but I'm not as excited about the place since I'm from the city, although the program is obviously excellent. Pepperdine's campus seems awesome, but i must admit i don't know much about the school. UConn seems nice...but I hear it's in the middle of nowhere and I'd have to more research on the program. what about harvard law? how's the campus? and upenn?

That big glass one there is the undergrad library. It continues to the left under the strip; the lit up part on the left is the coffee shop. There is also a separate law library near Boyd, but it's not a looker.Carlisle wrote:the desert is great if you're into it, and boyd is good school, but this building looks like a sports arena or something.

The main law school building is so full of light. I love walking through our atrium, and sitting near the big glass windows in the library. The campus will always be gorgeous to me, and made more so by its proximity to my other favorite building in NYC (which is surpassingly lovely inside and out.)
