in before Republican trolls retort: "can't believe how much u silly Europeans/Canadians pay in taxes..now THAT's a scam."

We just have a different moral compass -- ours says that the young and poor should be heavily indebted to the ruling class for life.

Also, where the figgityfuck are you getting your med school tuition figures? Johns Hopkins was $39,500 this year and Harvard was $42,500. + COL. Work it out.

Don't know if this is relevant, but if anyone's interested, I have been told that law schools are big revenue generators for their larger university (meaning a big chunk of your tuition goes to the university, not back into your law school).

NYU Law is the only T14 that has this deal with the larger university where they keep the money they make on tuition. UCI has gotten this deal with the University of California as well.

Doctors (even dentists) are perceived as fulfilling a vital function in the community, and so there is less support for imposing onerous costs on medical school students; law students are perceived as people who are just interested in a bigger paycheque. They always shoulder the largest burden in any general tuition increase.

Med students know that they will definitely have high salaries, most law students don't even know if they will have a job at all. If I was reasonably certain of a 150k-190k salary, I might borrow 150k too.

Just responding to the initial claim that law school cost more than med school, when it clearly doesn't.

And just realized this thread is over a year old
