What are the best media/communications law schools?

I know that it's not a typically ranked specialty (like environmental, intellectual property, international law, etc...) but does anyone have any input into what schools are strong in the area of media/communications law? Or does anyone know where one might find that info? Thanks.

I'd guess that places with good J schools (NU, CLS) would be the answer...but my guess would be wrong. I'm not sure NU has anything of the sort.

No, not entertainment law. More like telecommunications, broadcast, TV and radio regulation, internet advancement and regulation, etc...

I know this post is old...but for what it's worth I think Indiana University has one of the better pure communications programs. The FCC Law Journal is produced there.

I'm sure that OP will appreciate your input, especially since he probably just graduated from whatever school he picked.

Yeah, but those discplines tend to be interrelated. Just pick one of the stronger entertainment law schools or a school with strong graduate communications and journalism departments. The latter could provide a clue. If the law school is good, chances are you'll get what you want. The entertainment law schools tend to be strong in media and communications law.

Start with UCLA, USC, CLS, NYU, Fordham, Loyola (CA), and Cardozo. I'm just guessing right now. I would also try Penn (the communications school there is supposed to be top notch), Southwestern (if you don't care about rank), and Duke.

Look in the specific law school guides and they will tell you how many courses you are available in the media and communications areas. The best schools are, unsurprisingly, going to be in Cali or NY - with a few exceptions (Duke, Penn, Vandy, Tulane, etc).
