Fordham for Non-NYC big law

Post by forumposter153 » Fri Oct 28, 2022 11:44 am

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone had information on how well Fordham places in markets outside New York for big law, specifically Texas. I am open to practicing to New York. However, I am from Texas and did my undergrad here, and would be interested in practicing in Texas when I graduate. I am also curious about placement in Chicago and Miami. Thanks!

Fordham's biglaw placement is mostly in NYC. I would try to go to school in Texas if Texas is your exclusive goal. Assuming you don't get into UT or a T14, I suppose you could try for NYC biglaw and then lateral after a few years if you make it, but no guarantees you will get biglaw at all.

I think you should take a look at SMU, A&M, Houston, and obviously UT. Going to one of the first 3 on a large scholarship could be a great outcome.

If you want to practice in Texas or in Miami or Chicago, then attending Fordham Law makes no sense.
