W&L ($$$) vs IU Maurer ($$$$)

Post by CR7fanboy » Tue May 03, 2022 2:01 am

Hi everyone, which one should I choose? I know neither is ideal for biglaw but W&L’s number seem to be increasing every year and are quite respectable now.

Ideally, looking for biglaw but would obviously make do with what I have.

International with no GPA and 167 LSAT.

Where do you want to practice? If you need a visa, I wouldn't do either of these, as you need biglaw to sponsor you.

Yeah, if you're an international student, you need biglaw to have a decent shot at securing a visa. There is no "making do with what you have" if you fail to get that visa.

Neither of these options give you a good enough chance at biglaw to justify spending three years of your life on the degree. If you want to practice in the US, you should retake the LSAT and see if you can score better options.

I had a similar score but better options (medians were lower back then). I agree you should retake lsat. Feel free to DM me. Definitely happy to talk more about your options or share my experiences (graduating this year). I am an international also.
