Penn vs. Northwestern($$)

Hi guys,

I literally have 3 or 4 days left to make my decision so time is really running out. I'd really appreciate any input.

My parents will be helping with cost of living so I'm just worried about tuition costs at the moment. Penn only offered 30k and won't budge while Northwestern has offered 180k.

Costs (that I'll have to pay)
Penn Tuition: 168k
Northwestern Tuition: 6k

LSAT/GPA: 169/4.1
Waitlisted at Harvard and Stanford

I'm from NY and want to work in NY. My goals are to clerk and then Big Law, but I'm interested in both international work or working in fed government for the long term. I'm definitely swayed by Penn's Ivy/prestige factor idk. I also want to work abroad my 1L summer and study abroad.

I like both cities, although, I'm dreading Chicago winters a bit. I like Northwestern's culture better but not really too excited that most of their students are older as I'm a younger student. For everything I want to do, Penn can help me do it. Northwestern can do it too but I have to work harder so idk.

... are you even thinking for a second that Penn is worth more than 162k over NW... come on now...

You can get to NY from NW. Just please make the smart decision here and go to NW. You will survive the winters by padding your coats with the thousands of dollars you would have spent at Penn

Have you tried negotiating with Penn on scholarship?

Honestly there isn't even a decision here, its NW by far. There is no meaningful outcome differences between Penn and NW at all. Go to NW and stop even considering paying that much for Penn.
