How does Northwestern place in NYC (with hometown connections)?

How does Northwestern place in NYC as a secondary market? I will likely be attending in the fall and am coming from NYC (born and raised in the area). One of the main reasons I like NU is it gives me the opportunity to explore a city/legal market that I am very attracted to. However, I am still undecided between practicing in Chicago or going back to NYC to be close to my family. If I wanted to ultimately end up back in NYC, how would my chances be as a NU student with personal and professional ties to NYC (I've been a Biglaw paralegal here for almost two years)? Would being at the median give me a reasonable shot or would I have to finish higher?

Roughly 20% of 2016 grads had NY jobs.

It places well. If you want NY biglaw from NU, you should be able to get it. I think there's a lot of self-selection going on there and that many who go to NU tend to prefer working in Chicago.
I have been told however that getting NY biglaw from a Chicago school (NU or U of C) would be a little easier than getting Chicago biglaw from a NY law school... Something to consider maybe.

its probably the easiest market to get from NU (though i bet this is true of most T13).
