Maryland employs people in Maryland, and it does well in Baltimore. It does poorly in DC, and NY isn't even on the table. There are only two law schools in MD and UMD is the significantly better one. 85% of graduates place into legal or business jobs FT/LT, according to LST. Over 25% of the graduating class goes into Govt. or PI. I have a number of family members and friends at Carey right now. The 1Ls have internships lined up. The 3Ls have jobs lined up pre-graduation (one of them is mid-way through a federal clerkship and exiting to the PD in Baltimore.) Baltimore suffers a bit from the good-ol-boy vibe; everyone wants to know what high school you went to. However, if you show commitment to the city (and the problems it faces), you can definitely do well there.bwaldorf wrote:.
