Gonna keep my options open, although patent prosecution is a high probability... I do want to keep a door open for lit though.goldenbear2020 wrote:Are you planning to go into patent prosecution or keep your options open? If patent prosecution, law school rank is relatively less important so I would go for UW.
I have signed up for the June test, however, mostly as a means to gain leverage to increase my scholly offer. I really do not want to sit out another year.lakers180 wrote:be true to your username and give it another go
USC at 200k is a financially disastrous decision and you prolly wont get biglaw out of UW. You may not really want to sit out another year but I bet you don't want to be unemployed or making 50,000 with 200k in debt either.170orDie wrote:I have signed up for the June test, however, mostly as a means to gain leverage to increase my scholly offer. Why limit yourself? Why not try for a 190?lakers180 wrote:be true to your username and give it another go
I dont want to be that 0L that feels like they know everything. But from my research, and talks with several attorneys. It seems my BS in CS can offset the employment numbers of both schools. Does this change any of your advice?lakers180 wrote:USC at 200k is a financially disastrous decision and you prolly wont get biglaw out of UW. Yes, with your degree you are more likely to get big law or at least a patent firm that pays well than the average student at USC or UW. Still no guarantee so going to USC for that much would be financially irresponsible. Either go to UW or sit out and retake170orDie wrote:I dont want to be that 0L that feels like they know everything. But from my research, and talks with several attorneys. No because if you take one year off improve your LSAT 4-5 points you can potentially go to those schools, or those in the same tier, for free. By the time you pay it off that's probably worth 2 or 3 hundred thousand accounting for interest. While CS may give you a better chance, biglaw is far from guaranteed and if you don't get it that debt will be with you for a long time.170orDie wrote:I dont want to be that 0L that feels like they know everything.
