Finally, the perfect go-to-Harvard thread.

If Stanford doesn't happen, then definitely Harvard.

How in the world did you not get a Ruby or Hamy?

what? almost no one gets a hamilton w/o 174 + and very few rubinstein without 172+. OP had a very good cycle, except his sub-par berkeley offer.

After spending several years lurking here, I'm honored-- pretty sure these are best compliments I'll ever receive on the interwebs. Lol

That debt really still bothers me and I'd at least consider giving apps another go for a bigger scholarship, butH is undoubtedly the answer currently.

It bothers me as well, and I have thought about it a lot over the past few months. I'm just not all that confident another cycle would turn out better-- I have a couple years of work experience already, and I applied in mid-November. I'm not sure that whatever is missing that is causing schools to like me enough for acceptance, but not love me enough for money, would change with another go.

I could hypothetically retake the LSAT once more, but I scored pretty much within my practice score range and I'm working way more hours now than I was when I studied for the last take. I'm still mulling this over, but I'm more likely to pull the trigger this cycle, for better or worse.

Yeah, there's no guarantees in the T13 full ride world, so it's understandable to just take Harvard and run.

You're one of those people who should choose Berkeley over HLS when Berkeley is significantly cheaper. But Berkeley isn't really cheaper in your case, so Harvard.

Can you push Berkeley for an expedited reconsideration request since you'd have to deposit at Harvard this weekend otherwise? Be like "yo I need to know before Friday."

As of now, I'd say Harvard but it's crazy for H and B to be the same price so they should really try to be more accommodating (I hear they're a disaster with financial aid though so who knows what's going on in that circus).

Its because B is broke as fuck.

Thank you all so much for your advice-- I had made my H decision and was planning to deposit this morning. Then Berkeley came back with a full ride. I've updated OP accordingly. Anddddd now I'm leaning back towards Cal. Please help, TLS, you're my only hope!

Go to Berkeley.

You want to work in the bay area and have a full ride to one of the two best schools for getting a good job there.

No brainer.

People said Harvard because it was cheaper. Go to Berkeley for free if that's what you want. That's what I would do.

I was so close to getting to say Harvard is the best choice. You stole that away from me. For shame.

Seriously though, Berkeley and it's not even remotely close

Enjoy Berkeley. You'll have an excellent chance to stay in the Bay Area, and a good shot at biglaw too if you want it. With minimal debt, that's a great place to be.
