IU vs. UIUC. vs. W&L
TLS forums taught me what a good choice for a law school was, how to navigate the lsat, made my negotiations succeed, so I would love some anonymous input on the biggest decision of my life, naturally.
Illinois - $ full ride (total cost: 11k a year)
Indiana - $ 82% scholly (total cost: 22k a year)
W&L - $ 90% scholly (total cost: 16k a year)
Some more info: currently work in entertainment soft ip (no science degree) and would enjoy doing more of that. also have major interest in media and technology. Washington and Lee was my favorite school academically, but the city truly seems so boringly small. IU and UIUC have way better culture environments, with IU being my favorite. I don't really care where I end up, Chicago is fine, so is DC or virginia or indiana. No connections. A W&L alum has my dream job (head copyright judge) so that's fun. All schools negotiated with to the max. Serious girlfriend would be able to see me more often at IU or UIUC.
I am totally comfortable with the debt from all these schools, though less debt would allow me to more realistically try for my niche job goals.
Thank you all!

UIUC
W&L is a very different environment than a Big 10 campus...make sure you visit it.

Not sure (a few more than full tuition on their 509, but that may just cover their insane fees!).shotgunheist wrote:Self savings. Do they give out stipends?guybourdin wrote:How are you getting that UIUC coa?
I just ask b.c COA should include what you pay out of pocket imo. Like walking out out UIUC with only 30k in debt is a good option, but there's obviously a difference b.t 30k in debt and 30k in debt and ran through 20k+ in savings.
Anyway, still vote UIUC!
