UF V. GW

I can go to either UF or GW debt free. My family is willing to spend the money to send me to GW, but I don't want to spend their money if their ranking is going to continue to go down. On the other hand UF's ranking is increasing. Am I reading too much into these rankings? I would love to live in DC, but only if I can find a job after law school. Please Help!

If you want to work in DC, go to GW.

Rankings are largely meaningless. If you want DC go for GW but note that it'll still be a tough market to crack

We need more info here, starting with what kind of job do you want?
Even if your parents are willing to pay, I don't know if I'd let them pay GW sticker for me (if that's what they're paying) unless I absolutely had to be in DC and truly wanted DC.
I'm guessing you have Florida ties?

It's not sticker. I got 25k a year in merit scholarships (Trying to negotiate for more). My parents are divorced and are willing to split the rest of tuition (They can afford it). My grandmother has 100k in inheritance for each grandchild, and is willing to let me spend mine on living expenses while in law school. If I go to UF I won't have to touch my inheritance, because I got close to a full ride. So obvioulsy I don't want to waste my inheritance if it will not result in a decent job at the end. My ties are in Florida, but I would really like to experience living somewhere else. I am not aiming for big law. I would like either government or a mid sized firm job.

Unless you are going to a t13, law school is not the way to experience living somewhere else. If you want to practice and live in Florida, go to UF.
If you want to practice in DC go to GW. If you just want to live in DC go for a year or two, get a job on the Hill and then go to law school
