GW Law v. UC Davis Law

Hello, California native here debating between these two schools for Fall 2017.
I am from about two hours outside of Davis, but also have family in DC. Davis slightly cheaper due to in-state costs.
With Davis at #30 and GW at 25, not sure what to do, as it seems GW has a stronger reputation. No money from either, not a huge concern in the choice between these two.Pretty sure I want to practice in CA, strongly interested in IP law which GW has a very good program for, however California would be an ideal place to practice IP law. Would appreciate any guidance.

Seems like Davis would be the choice if you want to practice in CA. Plus, Davis is a great town and not unaffordable. I bet some people will tell you to retake for $$, though.

Taking "retake" off the table, I'd also agree that, provided you want to stay in Cali, Davis makes more sense because 1) it probably places more in Cali and 2) it'll probably be cheaper. GW is super expensive. Like, god awful expensive, AND DC's rent is pretty hefty as well.

You need to talk us through why you are choosing to pay sticker at mediocre regional schools in two separate regions when you got into Penn.
