I don't care if y'all think this is meaningless. All I'm trying to show is that for those aspiring BigLaw career it isn't all about "T14 or None".

This thread should be stickied, it should be an eye opener for the new TLSers who still swear by USNWR ranking.

Could be a great list if outcomes were cross-referenced by Vault ranking and TLS's vague sense of judicial "prestige." That way, a student at a Super Regional would never risk accidentally accepting a position more befitting of a student from a Regional Powerhouse.

My trick is to roll all my clothes and pack any bulkier items (like sweaters) in vacuum bags. I never have to check a bag.

No, I'm merely echoing what appears to be the consensus with regards to the determinant factors of prestige - mainly the BigLaw & Federal Clerkship placement, and Portability. Putting the petty spelling error and mild humor aside, the absence of the slightest hint of objection to my list suggests that it rings truth to the sentiment of this community, hence the suggestion was made. It has nothing to do with my false sense of ego.

If this is the consensus and your post rings true to the sentiment of this community, what does it add to what's already here?

Nony's point is spot-on. Also, OP, I would sincerely and politely suggest that you take yourself, this thread, and ranking/hierarchy of law schools a little less seriously. I think you and others would find that it makes for a better experience all around.

Obviously the best packing order is thus: (assuming a normal suitcase)
You put the stuff you have multiples in first (underwear, socks, etc) since those are largely interchangeable and can stuff in small places.
Next, you'll want to put in large unique items ( shoes, jackets etc) rearranging the small stuff as necessary to achieve optimum packing synergy.
Shirts go next, and then pants/shorts.
Come on guys, we didn't need a whole comment thread for this.

I buy a 55 gallon fiber drum or two and load all of the personal effects I can't liquidate into it, then have it shipped by the cheapest carrier. I've moved to several different countries this way, and I only spend a few hundred dollars. Safe Travels!

People suggesting that you put pants in after shirts are monsters.
Also, I love the OP's assertion that this information is somehow not readily available (and in much more specific and detailed form) in every single thread on this forum.

Your post is common sense to users here and very easily accessible to anyone who uses Google. Why are you acting as if you've unlocked the secret to law school?
Ironically enough, this thread would have been much more useful if it were about efficient packing methods. Why pants first?

OP: give up. This is now a thread about packing. Incidentally, this should be stickied for people who travel for EIP.
HYPSM wrote:

Pants (assuming they are not jeans or sweatpants that you can roll up) lie flatter, thus creating a better base for the rest of your clothes. They are also heavier than other articles of clothing, thus making your bag less topheavy.
Also why would u put a (collared) shirt anywhere but the top. It's going to fuck up the collar way more than it is already going to be otherwise.

Best advice so far ITT (besides the pants thing).

If you have shirts and a suit, wouldn't you bring a garment bag? I feel like placing collared shirts and dress pants in a suitcase is just asking for a lot of wrinkles
