Top Law Schools

I have not applied to law school. Right now, I'm basically making a game plan.

I live in Florida and my goal is to become a family law attorney. I have zero interest in working big law and do consider staying in south Florida as an option for me. Because of this, I'm wondering whether it's worth it for me to apply to higher ranked schools and come out with debt, or go to a smaller school in south Florida and minimize my debt. I know as a family law attorney I wouldn't be making $160k out of school, so I don't want to get myself into incredible debt when I won't have the salary to pay it off.

There is not enough information here to give you advice. What is your LSAT/GPA? What schools are you considering? Outside the T-14s ranking does not matter much.

Ya need more information to be helpful. What type of "family law" -- divorce? child welfare? etc..

But if not shooting for biglaw/geographic mobility, go to school 1) in the area you want to work, and 2) somewhere that offers you good $$$

What do you mean by higher ranked school? T14 or UF? With your goals UF/FSU/maybe UM (if in Miami) is the way to go. Maybe even FIU for Miami? Though I would think you already know all of this..

Rankings don't matter, ignore them. Focus on cost and job placement.
